The Taste of Park Ridge committee is pleased to announce the dates for the
2019 Taste of Park Ridge , which will occur on
July 11th, 12th, and 13th, 2019
in Uptown Park Ridge (Summit Ave. between Touhy and Prospect Avenues).
As always, we will celebrate the Summer with exceptional edibles and entertainment for a variety of ages and musical preferences.
This year, we are introducing the “Taste the Talent” Youth Showcase, during the Taste of Park Ridge!! We will highlight the Park Ridge area’s “Headliners of the Future”, featuring performances by Lynette’s School of Dance, the new Park Ridge School of Rock, and Viking Gymnastics and Dance.
As we are continually told by government officials, that today’s students are our” leaders of tomorrow,” we contend that this is equally true in the arts. Therefore, for the very first time, in this, our 20th year, the Taste of Park Ridge committee is both delighted and proud to dedicate significant stage time to our own treasure of musical, dance, and gymnastics talent.
There cannot be a Taste of Park Ridge without food vendors, and the 2019 edition of the Taste of Park Ridge, like a healthy meal, is incredibly well balanced. Charcoal Delights is delighted to “double the dosage” with two booths this year! Cream of the Crepe, D’Agostino’s, Dolcetti, Hay Caramba, Himalayan Restaurant, Joseph’s Meats, Lisa’s Italian Ice, Panino’s Pizzeria, Park Ridge Dairy Queen, Rex Italian Foods, Spuntino’s, masters of Italian beef and pizza, St. John Chrystastamos Monastery, Sunrise Grill, The Sandlot, and Twisted Trunk Catering have all featured first rate food and drink during previous Tastes. Although each has attracted a legion of dedicated followers, the Taste Committee is proud to announce the latest additions to this great gathering of gastronomic goliaths, which are Make Room for Truman, Murray Bros. Caddyshack, and Smokey Spike’s BBQ.
Housed in the former environs of Houlihan’s in Uptown Park Ridge, Make Room for Truman is a delicious destination for supremely succulent meat and chicken entrees, among many other dishes to die for. Oh and did I mention their namesake dessert Make Room for Truman? You will NOT want to miss that!! This terrific eatery also enjoys the distinct advantage of having the incredible Joe Dydio, Houlihan’s former general manager, as its general manager.
Located in nearby Rosemont, Murray Bros. Caddyshack will please your palate with mouth-watering contemporary classics like corned beef sliders and pulled pork. Like their initial establishment in St. Augustine, Florida, Murray Bros. in Rosemont features an impressive variety of delectable entrées and appetizers, as well as their own Murray Bros. Caddyshck Vodka-19th Hole. Having recently celebrated their first anniversary in this area, Celebrity Bill’s brother Andy, and general manager Mike Avella, are excited to make their Park Ridge Taste debut! Remember to Eat, Drink, and be Murray!
The Taste committee is ecstatic to include Smokey Spike’s BBQ in our line-up. You will “savor the flavor” of their incomparable barbecue offerings, including turkey legs, ribs, and brisket. If you enjoy barbecue, you simply must try Spike’s! You’ll come back for more. Guaranteed!
